Mason's

My uncle had been telling me and my mom about this new place call Mason's. So one Friday we finally tried it out. I order the 2 piece catfish fillet with fries. First of all these had to be some of the biggest catfish fillets I ever seen. They was so big they couldn't fit in the container. The fish was very good. The tartar sauce was exception and the fries was so so. I wish I had a picture of the pork chops my mom ordered they was huge too. When you try this place out you will definitely get your money's worth.

Pizza King

Pizza King has been in my community for many years. Its been know for good pizza and huge Texas size burgers. Recently they introduced new items to their menu and I chose to try out the wings. I ordered 10 cajun wings & fries. All the times I been to this place I never had slow service like this. The service was so slow you would have thought they was plucking the chicken in the back. So the owner decided to be nice after my long wait and give me a extra ranch. Wow big deal. Lets get to the wings. They were really nothing to brag about. They tasted more like store bought wings. I would go back to eat there but I will never get wings again.

Hunky's Hamburgers

One day on one of my field trips in the DFW I came across this place call Hunky's Hamburgers. When you first walk into Hunky's it reminds you of a old 50s or 60s diner. It has a nice laid back environment and the staff is nice. So I decided to order a cheeseburger and fries. The fries where very crispy. The burger had a nicely toasted bun, fresh tomatoes & lettuce, and well season beef. If your from Dallas the burger has a familiar taste that is similar to Good Luck burgers. Good Service & Good Food.

Elaine's Kitchen

For years I been wanting to try Jamaican food. I finally satisfied my fix with a visit to Elaine's. This place is a nice Jamaican food place located in South Dallas. This restaurant displays its pride for the Jamaican culture and most of the staff was of Jamaican descent. On my first visit I ordered a Jerk Chicken plate. This plate included jerk chicken, rice, and cabbage. The jerk chicken was good and super spicy. The rice was well seasoned and even though I'm not a big fan of cabbage but it was very good. Nice venue to visit and I will definitely be back to try the jerk shrimp.

Kobe Steaks Japanese Restaurant

One Friday I was invited to a birthday dinner at Kobe Steaks. This was my first time going to this Benihana style restaurant. So the food is cooked right in front of you. The chef was very entertaining and prepared some great meals on this evening. First the waiter brings out a nice fresh salad while the chef is prepares the grill. On this night I ordered the Chicken & Shrimp with veggies served in a creamy wine sauce. It consisted of diced chicken breast, shrimp, veggies, and a creamy wine sauce with cheese. The dish also included some great fried rice. I must say I really enjoyed this great meal. If your a fan of hibachi style eating you will love this place.

Alligator Cafe

Probably about few months ago Dallas Observer released their annual Best of the Best issue. At that time I was looking for a place that was selling Cajun food. After browsing that issue of the Observer I stumbled across the Alligator Cafe. This place offers Cajun food that is quick & tasty. I was looking at the menu and I was so undecided on what I wanted. Finally, I decided to order some catfish nuggets and a small order of red beans & rice. The nuggets was a nicely golden brown and came with a delicious tartar sauce that complimented the nuggets very well. Next I tasted a popular Louisiana tradition, red beans & rice. The flavor of the beans was so pleasing that the rice really wasn't needed but was enjoyed with every bite. In the near future I will be returning to try many more of these Cajun cuisines. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants great Cajun food in the Dallas area.
